- Graduate Posts (8,113 vacancies):
- Goods Train Manager: 3,144 vacancies
- Station Master: 994 vacancies
- Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor: 1,736 vacancies
- Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist: 1,507 vacancies
- Senior Clerk cum Typist: 732 vacancies
- Undergraduate Posts (3,445 vacancies):
- Commercial cum Ticket Clerk: 2,022 vacancies
- Junior Clerk cum Typist: 990 vacancies
- Accounts Clerk cum Typist: 361 vacancies
- Trains Clerk: 72 vacancies
Application Dates:
- Graduate Posts: Application started on 14th September 2024 and will close on 13th October 2024.
- Undergraduate Posts: Applications will be open from 21st September 2024 to 20th October 2024.
Eligibility Criteria:
- For Graduate Posts: A degree from a recognized university is required.
- For Undergraduate Posts: Candidates must have passed the 12th standard (10+2).
Age Limit:
- The age limit is generally between 18 and 33 years, depending on the post.
Application Fees:
- General/OBC: Rs 500 (Rs 400 refunded after appearing for the CBT exam).
- SC/ST, Female, PwBD, Transgender, etc.: Rs 250 (fully refunded after CBT).

The RRB NTPC 2024 exam syllabus is divided into different stages:
- First Stage Computer-Based Test (CBT 1):
- This is common for both undergraduate and graduate-level posts.
- Subjects:
- General Awareness (40 marks)
- Current events, history, geography, Indian polity, constitution, general science, culture, economics, and sports.
- Mathematics (30 marks)
- Number system, decimals, fractions, ratio & proportion, percentages, time & work, time & distance, profit & loss, elementary algebra, geometry, and statistics.
- General Intelligence and Reasoning (30 marks)
- Analogies, coding-decoding, mathematical operations, syllogism, data sufficiency, puzzle, and seating arrangement.
- General Awareness (40 marks)
- Total Marks: 100
- Duration: 90 minutes (120 minutes for PwBD candidates)
- Negative Marking: 1/3 mark deducted for each wrong answer.
- Second Stage Computer-Based Test (CBT 2):
- This is post-specific, and the difficulty level varies for different posts.
- Subjects:
- General Awareness (50 marks)
- Mathematics (35 marks)
- General Intelligence and Reasoning (35 marks)
- Total Marks: 120
- Duration: 90 minutes (120 minutes for PwBD candidates)
- Negative Marking: 1/3 mark deducted for each wrong answer.
- Typing Skill Test (TST) (for specific posts like Junior Clerk cum Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist, etc.):
- Candidates are required to demonstrate typing proficiency:
- English: 30 words per minute
- Hindi: 25 words per minute.
- Candidates are required to demonstrate typing proficiency:
- Computer-Based Aptitude Test (for posts like Station Master and Traffic Assistant):
- This is applicable only for candidates who qualify in CBT 2.
- There is no negative marking in this stage.
- Document Verification/Medical Examination:
- Candidates who clear the above stages are called for document verification and a medical fitness test.
